Kuching,
The State Capital, with a population of about 360,00

Sarawak entering the State through Kuching International airport.

Kuching
main attractions range from world class museums, such as the
Sarawak Museum of Anthropology, to acquaint old colonial buildings
and pre-war rows of shophouses, reminiscent of the days of
the lazy Sarawak river, criss-crossed by odd looking embarkation,
majestic Mosque and intricate temples, graceful modern modern
buildings and charming Malay villages.
Outside
Kuching, many National Parks and natural areas can be visited
in a day trip, although most National Parks and natural areas

offer chalets for overnight stays in the jungle. Most famous
areas for nature lovers are Bako National Park, where Proboscis
monkeys , can be spotted, and Semenggoh Orang-utan rehabilitation
center, where semi-wild Orang-utans can be observed at close
range during feeding times. Other no less interesting areas
include Gunung Gading National Park, where the gigantic Rafflesia
flower grows, Kubah National Park, the Wind and Fairy caves.
Matang wildlife center, Samunsam wildlife reserve and Tanjung
Dato National Park.

Kuching,
in Malay language means ‘Cat’. Situated at the mouth of the
Sarawak river with a population of about 360,000 people is
the first pleasant surprise for most visitors to Sarawak entering
the State through Kuching International Airport. Kuching is
the gateway to the land of hornbill or what was formerly known
as the land of the White Rajah, Sir James Brooke or the land
of the headhunters.
Kuching
City’s best historical reminders can be seen on the walking
tour of Kuching. Situated within close proximity to each other
are the Tua Pek Kong Temple, the Courthouse, the State Mosque,
Square Tower, the General Post Office building, the Pavilion,
the Sarawak Museum which is the finest in Southeast Asia, and
Chinese History Museum and the Islamic Museum. A short boat
ride across the Sarawak River brings one to the Fort Margherita,
which is now a Police Museum. Of course, there is also the Satok
Suspension Birdge and Malay villages, where house are built
on stilts.
SARAWAK
RIVER CRUISE

A
cruise on the Sarawak River provides an unique insight of the
riverine of the life of Kuching . You will pass Tambangs, small
house like boats used for ferrying locals across the river from
the Malay Kampong built on stilts and also the fishing village.
You will also have a full view of Astana, former residence of
the Rajah Brooke and now the Governor’s residence. Fort Margherita,
built during the reign of Rajah Charles Brooke is now a Police
Museum is also on the visit list. We will cruise by the Satok
Suspension Bridge before returning to Kuching City.
SEMENGGOK
/ MATANG ORANG UTAN WILDLIFE CENTRE

Orang Utan wildlife Centre is located 25km away from Kuching
and it can be reached by van/coach in 40-50 minutes and 25-30
minutes scenic walk through dense rainforest. Semenggok/Matang
Wildlife centre is the home to Orang Utan, Hornbill, Sambar
Bear, Crocodile, leopord Cat, Monkeys, Bird etc. View various
species trees and plants from the forest.
FULL
DAY BAKO NATIONAL PARK

Bako
National Park is located on Peninsula at the mouth of the Sarawak
River and it can be reached by van/coach in 35 minutes and a
30 minutes boat ride from Kuching. The coastline of the Park
is indented with beautiful rock formations, steep cliff and
sandy bays that provide excellent swimming ground. In this relatively
small area 25 species of vegetations are found in abundance.
Monitor lizards, wild board, deer, bird-c, monkeys (one of which
is the Proboscis Monkey) and snakes can be found here in their
natural habitat. Lunch will be served at the Park Canteen. Return
back to hotel/airport.
Optional : An extension of the tour involving an overnight stay
at the Park or bungalow can also be arranged.

DAYS 1 NIGHT SKRANG / LEMANAK RIVER IBAN LONGHOUSE

Skrang
River Iban Longhouse is located roughly 245 kilometres away
from Kuching. It can be reached by van/coach in 04hours and
01 hour by powered longboat.
DAY
1
Depart Kuching by van/coach for Skrang River (234kilometres
from Kuching). The journey will pass by breath-taking scenes
of pepper gardens, farmhouses, cocoa gardens, rubber estates,
padi fields, sago farms and rainforest covering the mountain
range forming the Sarawak/ Indonesia border. Lunch enroute at
Lachau Town. After lunch, continue your journey by van/coach
to Skrang River. On arrival, transfer onto native longboat and
cruise up the placid Skrang River for about an hour before reaching
the Iban Long house. Tour the long house with your guide and
study the 'unique' lifestyle of the lbans. A traditional Than
Style dinner-sitting on the mats will be served in the long
house. Ale highlight of the tour is an evening of entertainment
by the lbans as they perform traditional dances to the beat
of gongs and drums. Overnight in the long house Benuk or Mejung.
Mattress, pillows and bed sheets will be provided. Sleep on
the Verandah or in the Chief s room.
DAY
2
Breakfast in the longhouse. Return to Kuching by longboat, by
van/coach via the same route. Lunch enroute at Lachan Town.
Arrive Kuching in the early afternoon.
