Tribes of Borneo -
Close
to the Indonesian border in the North - Eastern corner of
Sarawak and dominated by Gunung Murud are the Kelabit Highlands,
the highest inhabited area of Borneo. It can only be reached by
light aircraft.
Bario,
the centre of the Kelabit Highlands, consists of several longhouses
and a number of individual dwellings, the airstrip with daily
flights to Miri, several shops and lodging houses, schools, clinic
and immigration post.
BARIO,
which means ''WIND" in the Kelabit language, a remote plateau
surrounded by rolling hills, has many paths leading off into the
forest, tempting one to explore further a field. The cool climate
also encourages one to move around.

DAY
01 - ARRIVE BARIO BY MAS FLIGHT
Depart by Rural Air Service to Bario. Meet upon arrival and check-in
at the lodge. After lunch stroll to Aru Dalan passing through Ulung
Palang longhouse and Bario Asal. Along the way, you will see terrace
Bario Rice fields and vegetables grown near Bario Asal. Kelabits
tribe are also known as HIGHLANDERS. Dinner and overnight at the
Lodge.

DAY
02 - JUNGLE TREKKING PA" UMOR
Breakfast at the accommodation. Depart for Pa'Umor about 3hrs
jungle trekking and you will be passing through "Padang Pasir' and
look out for different varieties of picture plants. Visit the SALT
LAKE at Pa'Umore. Lunch will be at Pa'Umor longhouse. Return to
the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

DAY
03 - DEPART BARIO BY MAS FLIGHT
Breakfast at the lodge. Your guide will arrange for the shopping
at Local handicrafts and fruits before fly for the next destination..

DAYS 5 NIGHTS LONGHOUSE TOUR

DAY 01 - ARRIVE BARIO
BY MAS FLIGHT
Depart by Rural Air Service to Bario.Meet upon arrival at Bario
airport and have lunch. Afternoon start trekking for 3 - 4hrs to
Penan Settlement at PA'BERANG for dinner and overnight.

DAY 02 - PA'BERANG LONG
HOUSE / RAMUDU LONG IIOUSE,
Breakfast at the long house, trekking to Raniudu Longhouse for about7hrs
crossing numerous rivers. Packed lunch will be provided. Overnight
and dinner at the Ramudu Longhouse.

DAY 03 - - RAMUDU / PA'DALIR
Breakfast at Raniudu Longhouse. A short trek for 3hrs to Pa'Dalih,
a Kelabit longhouse. Lunch and swim in the river or if you're still
energetic, climb to Batu Patong. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 04 - PA' DALIR
/ LONG DANO
Breakfast at the longhouse, depart for Long Dano for 2 - 3 hrs trekking.
In the afternoon some additional activities with the local people
for wildlife watching. Dinner and overnight at the longhouse.

DAY 05 - LONG DANO / BARIO
Breakfast at the longhouse. After breakfast start trekking to Bario
for 7 - 8hrs trekking. Packed lunch will be provided. Dinner and
overnight at Tarawe' Lodge.

DAY 06 - DEPART BARIO
BY MAS FLIGHT
Breakfast at the lodge before departing for the flight back.
